News : VEHICLE ACCIDENT RESULTING IN INJURY

On Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at approximately 6:03 PM, Benton County Sheriff's Deputies [BCSO] along with the Urbana Police Department, Urbana Fire Department and North Benton Ambulance Service were dispatched to a collision involving injuries on Highway 150 at Meadow View Drive in Urbana. Upon emergency personnel's arrival, they found two vehicles had collided at that location.

The initial BCSO crash investigation indicates that a vehicle driven by 34-year-old Jared Vaske of Urbana, Iowa, was traveling westbound in the 3000 block of 55th Street [HWY 150] followed by a Ford Edge SUV. Jared Vaske reduced speed preparing to turn left onto Meadow View Drive in Urbana when his truck was rear-ended by the Ford Edge.

The driver of the Ford Edge was identified as 28-year-old Victoria Birker of Vinton, Iowa and was the only occupant. Victoria was transported by North Benton Ambulance Service to St. Luke's Hospital with non-life threatening injures. The accident remains under investigation by BCSO with a traffic charge pending.
