The Vinton-Shellsburg Board of Education is pleased to announce that they have selected three candidates to interview for their superintendent vacancy. The third candidate, who will interview on Tuesday, February 11th is:

  • Mr. Matt Kingsbury, Vinton, IA

Interviews will be conducted on the 6th, 10th, and 11th of February. Numerous stakeholder groups will have the opportunity to meet the final candidates and submit input to the board about each of them. The board intends to make their selection on February 11th.

Vinton-Shellsburg retained the services of McPherson & Jacobson, L.L.C. to assist in conducting their search. The consultants reviewed, screened, and conducted extensive background checks on 27 applicants in Iowa and across the nation. On January 29th the consultants presented the applicants to the Board of Education and provided them detailed background information on each applicant. The board selected six candidates as semi-finalists.

On February 1st the Board of Education interviewed the six semi-finalists, choosing three of them on February 3rd to advance to the final interviews.
