Heidi Kersten has done it again. Continuing the Christmas tradition that many of us grew up with since 1964, the lights at the Kersten home are again on display. Fewer than in other years, but the display highlights some of the memorable ones.
Making a trip to Kerstens each year since I was born, (at least that's what I've been told) it brings back a feeling of nostalgia. The 101 Dalmations are there this year, along with the display that always makes me chuckle, the Santa's pulling Rudolph in the sleigh and many of the other popular figures from several of the decades. Dagwood and Blondie that the kids wouldn't understand, and Scooby Doo and well, you get the drift, take a trip out to see the light, once again.
The Kersten Light display is located north of Vinton (about 2 1/2 miles down the Mt. Auburn Road, or 5598 22nd Ave. Trail, Vinton)
Lights will run through December 28th, with lighting hours Monday-Thursday 5:00-9:30 and Friday, Saturday, Sunday 5-10:00 p.m.
Don't forget to take a snack, er, donation to feed Shorty the giraffe on your way home to help cover the electric bill!
