Halie Engler, a 2017 graduate from Vinton-Shellsburg and now a student at the University of Iowa is involved in an organization on campus called Dance Marathon. If you are not familiar with this organization, it is a non-profit that provides emotional and financial support for kiddos and their families battling pediatric cancer at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. We fundraise for this cause year-round, and at the end of the year hold a 24-hour dance marathon, where we celebrate all that we have accomplished over the year.
As an organization on campus for 26 years, UIDM has fundraised $27,508,627.59 and counting, all FTK (for the kids).
Today is our big fundraising push day, Day to DM! In only 26.2 hours, we are striving to fundraise $500,000, the average cost of a pediatric cancer diagnosis for one child. From now until Wednesday night at 9:12 pm, I have set a goal to raise $1000. Any donation amount helps our kiddos a tremendous amount and would mean the world to our entire Dance Marathon family as we look to end this horrible disease. All donations are 100% tax deductible.
If you are interested in making a donation to the University of Iowa Dance Marathon, please contact me at halie.engler@gmail.com or at (319) 826-0281 and I can walk you through the steps to donate. You may also make an online donation by following the link attached to my donation page: https://donate.dancemarathon.uiowa.edu/detail/20982
Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
