I think we should invent more holidays that require children to be brought downtown just so we can all recharge our batteries with the smiles and cuteness that little children have.

Saturday was one of those days.

As a reporter, I spend a lot of time with adults. Not that they are grumpy and not fun to talk to, because I have yet to meet any such person.

But there is something that just makes me smile and enjoy this job even more and it's seeing the next generations that will grow up and love Vinton as much as I do.

We had several little policeman and firemen in the crowd, who got to meet some of their adult counterparts, we had Minions, of course, and the princesses, and superheroes, even a pair of flip flops made it into the kiddie parade. To see pictures, click here!

Thanks to Vinton Parks Department for all of your hard work coordinating the events on Saturday, well done!

I heard one of the moms in line say, "I just love our little town!' And that sums it up. We're all one big family, finding a reason to get together.
