Wesley UMC is excited to announce the arrival of our new Pastor. Reverend Brian Channel and his wife Tasha have just moved to Vinton. Wesley is planning a welcome brunch this Sunday, July 14 in the fellowship hall. The community is welcome. Our services start at 9am and the brunch will follow shortly after services end.
Rev. Brian and Tasha Channel are Iowa natives who moved back from IL in 2016 to serve Living Water UMC in Marion. They have served churches in Iowa and Illinois for 29 years. They were married May 25,1991, at Oxford Junction UMC by their fathers who were both second-
career clergy. Brian’s late father Norman served churches for 34 years and retired in 2000; Tasha’s parents, Mike and Paddy Druhl, were pastors in the Iowa Conference for over 20 years, retiring in 2015. Brian and Tasha have two daughters: Deidre, 20, who was married June 15 in IL, and Emily, 24, who lives in Cedar Rapids. Brian’s interests include military history, movies, music, reading, and building scale models of military vehicles. Tasha enjoys movies, music, knitting/crocheting, and quilting. She is involved with Quilts of Valor, an organization that gives patriotic-themed quilts to veterans who have “been touched by war.” family.
Brian and Tasha will be our newest Vintonites. Please welcome them with open arms and help us welcome them to Vinton.
