FIREWORKS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE USED WITHIN THE CITY OF VINTON

City of Vinton Ordinance Chapter 41.14.3 Consumer Fireworks: It is unlawful for any person to use or explode consumer fireworks within the City.

Iowa Code 727.2 (3(c(1) A person who uses or explodes consumer fireworks or novelties while the use of
such devices is prohibited or limited by an ordinance adopted by the county or city in which the fireworks are used commits a simple misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not less than
two hundred fifty dollars.

This year the Vinton Police Department will be issuing citations to anyone caught in violation of fireworks laws. In past years officers have responded to many fireworks complaints and violators were issued verbal warnings along with some fireworks seized. Officers will now cite individual violators and also seizing fireworks on repeat offenders.
