The Vinton Fire Department held it's annual spring fish fry on Friday, April 5th at the Fire Station.
The department worked to serve the many residents that came out to support them, working behind the scenes the guys were hard at work setting up, preparing the fish, frying it and then cleaning up after. These events are held to provide the needed equipment to take care of those of us in the community unfortunate enough to need their assistance.
This time the funds are going toward replacing their bunker gear and air packs as the expiration date near and they can no longer legally or safely use them.
Each set of bunker gear costs $2,500 and each air pack is $4,500!If you would like to help the department with an additional donation, you can drop it off to Charlie Garwood at Wilson-Hite Insurance at 301 C Ave., in downtown Vinton.
