News : Clean up continues from the winter storms

The Vinton street crews continue to clean up following the storms and winds that moved through the area over the weekend.

Along with cleaning the streets, they are also working to clear the city parking areas of the ice build up.

This morning they could be seen breaking up the layer of ice in the lot next to city hall.

The ice was several inches thick and broke into sizeable blocks as they scraped the lot back down to the pavement.

The city has begun to store the snow and ice across the river in the old dump site across from the light plant.
