As many of you may have noticed and appreciated, the gas prices are on a decline.
While driving through the county, this price of $1.89 was spotted in Shellsburg.
At the risk of sounding like an "old person," I remember about 10 years ago when the price was over $4.00 a gallon, the highest that it has ever been, I thought that we'd be hitting the $5.00 mark. Fortunately, we never did, but when you're pinching pennies, this is one area that really affects the pocketbook.
Just a little observation and a moment of appreciation for the little things, like lower gas prices.
