Tilford Elementary was recognized again today for their outstanding work to become one of the Blue Ribbon Schools.   As part of the recognizion, The Iowa Department of Education Director, Ryan Wise attended an assembly at Tilford Elementary today to present the teachers with a plaque and the school with a flag.   He reinterated that out of the 1,300+ schools in Iowa, Vinton Shellburg was recognized  as only 1 of the 6 in Iowa that won the award.   Each of the students were given a blue T-shirt that read, "Proud to be Tilford Elementary"   Principal Jim Murray welcomed everyone, and lead the kids in a cheer of "Go Vikings" following the ceremony.   The staff leadership was chosen to receive the plaque for the outstanding work at Tilford Elementary and there were students that were selected because of their hard work to receive the flag.
