[et_pb_section bb_built="1"][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type="4_4"][et_pb_text] Vinton-Shellsburg freshman Kay Fett led all female runners, winning the gold medal in the Vinton-Shellsburg cross country invitational Tuesday on the VSHS campus. Fett's time of 20:28.8 was 15 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. Junior Lake Lebahn of Union was the winner of the boys race, finishing with a time of 17:11.0, 36.9 seconds ahead of 2nd-place Dylan Spina of Benton. Nolan Haisman led Viking runners with a third place a finish. Benton Community won both team trophies. In the boys race, the Vikings second in team scoring; and Union, 3rd.
