The 12th annual Boomtown was as big and well-attended as the previous 11. Thousands filled Vinton to see and hear the fireworks displays and the shells built by hand by members of the Iowa Pyrotechnic Association. The displays are choreographed to music. Along with the main show, 17-year-old senior Kate Mostek of Mitchell organized the Junior Pyro show. She picked the music to accompany the fireworks. Several teens and some adults spent most of Saturday setting up for that show. See more photos HERE. See photos and videos on the Vinton Boomtown Facebook page HERE.
