News : PLAYGROUND WORK DAYS SET FOR AUG. 20-22

The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department is pleased to announce that a brand spankin’ new playground for Riverside Park has been funded and ordered… now all we have to do to make this playground a reality is to build it! Bringing neighbors and friends together to share in this Community Build Event can create positive individual experiences and a great sense of pride knowing you helped construct a new playspace for Vinton’s youth. It also reduces our overall playground costs up to 30%! To make this Community Build event a success, however we must seek out a lot of volunteers to assist on either the Assembly Crew and/or Refreshment/Check-In Crew. We’ll have a Certified Playground Installer on hand to direct the Community Build but it will be up to the volunteers to actually make it happen. We are in need of approximately 20-25 Assembly Crew volunteers and 3-4 Refreshment/Check-In volunteers per shift. We have a total of 6 shifts to cover. We will also happily accept any food/beverage donations that you might be able to contribute.
