We had a number of personal bests today. This is a short course with no par 5s, so irons and short game are the determiners. Most of our team had not played Airport National previously, only seniors Rachel and Brandi had. Rachel's 76 is a PR and finishing 3rd overall is exceptional. If they had medaled 10, Brandi would have placed with her 81. Lauren and Abbye had a round in the 40s for the first time, and Jordan Pattee made it into the 50s. Only the large school teams were able to best our team today. I was proud of the team's overall score and the personal efforts that were recorded.
We are scheduled for an 18 hole tournament starting at 8:30 a.m. Saturday (tomorrow) if the weather doesn't cancel it. Tuesday our team will play in a make up quad at 3 pm at the Amana Golf Course with Williamsburg, Marion and Clear Creek-Amana hosting. These are our last scheduled meets before regionals at Waverly Municipal Golf Course May 21.
