News : CENTER POINT HISTORICAL SOCIETY ELECTS 2017 OFFICERS

At its November 17 meeting the Center Point Historical Society elected the following officers for 2017: president Philip Andersen, vice president Dennis Schlicht, secretary Sharon Hannen, treasurer Teresa Scheeler and historian Virginia Benson. Directors are Barb Aarhus, Linda Schlicht and Collin Aarhus. The group discussed restoration and possible re-location of the Strait Log Cabin. Sharon Hannen and Dennis Schlicht will research. Paul Schantz will research display of the limestone school board members and builder/architect panels from the demolished 1903 school building. The Historical Society received an extremely generous donation from Marilyn Andersen. She and her late husband Dr. Kenneth had put the recent Center Point Library expansion fund raising drive over the top with their extremely, extremely generous donation. The Historical Society doesn't meet in December. The next regular meeting will be 7 p.m. Jan. 26, 2017,at Dan and Teresa Scheeler's house.
