News : 2016 Turkey Coloring Contest winners announced; will ride with Santa Thursday

Turkeys colored by contest winners (from left) Carlene Smith, Kayliegh Erger and Carley McKibben. The Vinton Parks & Recreation Dept held their annual Turkey Coloring Contest for 3rd grade and under. We would like to thank everyone who participated. The following is a list of the contest winners. Preschool & Under Division 1st - Kayleigh Erger 2nd - Gia Birker 3rd - Griffin Henkle Kindergarten & 1st Grade Division 1st - Carlene Smith 2nd - Nit Tafa 3rd - Piper Hansen 2nd & 3rd Grade Division 1st - Carly McKibben 2nd- Jacoby Johnson 3rd - Makaya Gardeman The top three winners in each division will be awarded prizes, presented with their laminated contest entry and ride the fire truck with Santa. They will meet at the fire station at 5:20 pm Thursday, November 17 for their ride with Santa in the downtown Veteran's Patriotic Holiday parade. * We had a number of submitted contest entries that have no information on the back, so we were unsure of where these should be returned. If you have a participating student that did not receive their entry, please have the parents come to the Vinton Recreation Center with their child to claim their entry. Thank you!
