Congratulations to both Jamie Thompson and David Steele for being recognized as National Merit Scholars.
Students qualify to become a National Merit Scholar by taking the PSAT exam during their junior year of high school. Jamie Thompson Last school year, 1.6 million students from 22,000 high schools took the PSAT exam which served as an initial screening for the National Merit Scholarship program. Jamie was recognized as one of the 34,000 Commended Students which placed her among the top 5% of students taking the PSAT. David was recognized as one of the 16,000 Semifinalists which placed him among the top 1% of students taking the PSAT. As a semifinalist, David will be completing an additional application in an effort to become a National Merit Scholarship finalist.
