Mrs. Hyland with her third-grade class. Laurie Hyland, a 3rd-grade teacher at Tilford Elementary in Vinton, has been named the KDAT Top Teacher of the Week. "As a volunteer in Laurie's 3rd grade classroom and having a grandson in her class, I have seen her in action first hand," wrote Sharon Koster, who nominated Mrs. Hyland. "As a former teacher, I appreciate how Laurie manages her classroom. She motivates each child to do his/her best and to meet their personal goals.
