Scores of Vinton residents took advantage of the annual clean-up days to get rid of appliances, electronics and other heavy solid waste.
Pickup trucks and trailers lined up to enter the city's dump areas north of town over the weekend as citizens brought non-working appliances, TVs, computers and other garbage. City crews helped supervise the clean-up and sort the items.
"We had 10 pallets of electronics, 110 appliances and we filled five roll-off containers," said Vinton City Manager Andy Lent.
