While the Vinton Palace Theatre is closed for the next 10 days for the installation of the rigging that will raise and lower the digital 3D screen, other changes are taking place.

The office/ticket window area is being remodeled. A second window in that area will allow the selling of seat savers from that area, creating more room in the lobby. There will also be new flooring and paint for the restrooms.

The lobby will also have a slightly different look, although the color scheme will stay the same.

"The green will be lighter; the gray will be darker," said Marcy Horst.

Workers have begun preparing the ceiling area above the seating for the installation of the rigging that will raise the screen up and toward the back of the theater for stage productions.

The theater will reopen Oct. 8, with "Eclipse," the popular teen vampire movie.
