News : VPRD Golf Tournament: A Martin duo wins again

The winners of the 2010 VPRD Golf Tournament pose at Vinton Country Club.

The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department held its annual Two Person Best Shot this past weekend at the Vinton Country Club. 110 golfers took part in the event with some getting their day shortened from the steady rains that wouldn’t quit.

Once again we had a Martin duo win the event. The team of Matt & Paul Martin shot a 64 for the eighteen holes which was a pretty good score with the conditions as they were.

The VPRD always gives out trophies for the lowest team of females and this year it was won again by Terese Foth and Robin Martin.

The tournament was very fortunate to have many businesses donate to the event none went home empty handed.

Also the V/S Girls Golf team raised $320 on the #5 par 3 event. Even with the rain a good time was had by all and the top five in each flight are listed below.
