News : How you can help the Vinton Police Department K-9 Officer Fund

The Vinton Police Department has initiated a K-9 Officer Fundraising Campaign. The Vinton Police Department is adding a K-9 Officer to assist in the effort of combatting crime in Vinton and the surrounding communities. Having a K-9 Officer creates a valuable asset to Law Enforcement Officers, who are working diligently to protect the citizens of this community.

The addition of a K-9 Officer to the Vinton Police Department greatly enhances the agency’s capability to track down, locate, and capture wanted offenders in urban and rural environments, and detect illegal narcotics in our communities and schools.

The employment of a K-9 Officer would be a great asset in reducing the safety hazards to the citizens and Law Enforcement Officers of the City of Vinton, while increasing the agencies effectiveness in apprehending criminals and conserving the peace. The addition of a K-9 Officer would help ensure that Vinton is a safe community in which to raise your family.

An effective K-9 Officer serves as a locating tool to find suspects of serious crimes and aid in their capture, and the detection of illegal narcotics. The K9 Officer is also beneficial to the thorough search of buildings and other hazardous areas. The K-9 Officer assists in these types of searches and provides an added layer of protection for the Law Enforcement Officers during these dangerous incidents.

The Vinton Police Department needs your support to help fund our K-9 Officer. We are asking businesses, community organizations, and individuals to donate funds to purchase the K-9, K-9 equipment and to provide the necessary training, and other needs to support and maintain our K-9 Officer. Donations of necessary equipment and supplies are welcome as well. Your donation to this program will go directly to this effort and is tax deductible.
