The family of injured Albuquerque police officer Daniel Scott Webster is receiving an outpouring of support from the Albuquerque community, as well as eastern Iowa and Benton County friends and neighbors. Residents in New Mexico are making donations; businesses donating profits, and letters of support and prayers are pouring in.

All three of Webster's daughters live in Iowa; among them is Vinton resident Rebecca Ingham.

"As long as my dad knows we are here that's all we need," said Ingham, who says the family is very grateful for all the support.

"This community even has been just as amazing as our own," she said. "The APD has been great with helping us out with the things we have needed."

Still, says, Ingham, day-to-day life more than 1,100 miles from home, away from her children, while attending to her father in the hospital is "not a smooth process at all."

"My husband will be coming back to Iowa soon to care for the kids and return to work," she says. "I plan on staying for a while." The APD has released a video to update the public on Webster's condition, as well as to thank the community members for their support.
