Honor Flight set for Sept. 14; participants to meet today

The Eastern Iowa Honor Flight (formerly North Central Iowa Honor Flight) will send another group of World War II veterans from the area to Washington, D.C. on Sept. 14.

The participants are meeting today in Hiawatha to prepare for the event. Vinton Today Editor Dean Close has been invited by the Honor Flight to make the journey to D.C. with the veterans this month and to help them tell their stories to their local media.
