Come and learn more about the outstanding native prairie at the Shellsburg School. Steve Holland, State IRVM Coordinator and manager of the Iowa Living Roadway Trust fund, will be on hand to explain about the plants, their importance and to answer questions. The meeting will be held on, Thursday night, September 9th from 6 to 8 PM, the meeting will begin the at the Shellsburg school cafeteria with a tour of the prairie to follow.
The Benton County Integrated Roadside Vegetation Management along with Trees Forever is sponsoring the meeting as part of their mission is to educate the public about the advantages of native plants in roadside ditches. This meeting will be an excellent opportunity to visit with knowledgeable people if you have any questions about the program.
