News : Friends of the Shelter Shoe campaign already reached 20 percent of goal

Friends of the Shelter's Shoes for Shelters campaign is off to a great start! Because of YOUR help, we have already reached 20% of our goal!

We ask that everyone takes a few minutes, digs in the back of their closets and finds a pair (or twelve) of shoes they'd be willing to donate to Friends of the Shelter. Not only does FOTSI receive a donation for each pound of shoes acquired, shoes will be redistributed to over 26 underdeveloped nations. From there, individuals will be trained how to run their own businesses and be given a chance to make their lives better. We've said it once and we'll say it again--it truly is a win-win situation!

Any type of shoe is accepted. That's right, ANY! Any style, size, gender or color. Whatever you've got...we want them!

Please help us reach our goal of 2500 pairs! Shoes can be taken to our Adoption Center (211 West 4th Street), Vinton Palace Theatre, or Grant Wood in Cedar Rapids. Our Adoption Center is open Thursdays from 1-7, or shoes can be left at the door at any time.
