Hutch Vinton Davis: Baby's middle name honors ancestors' hometown.

There’s a new Vinton in the world, and the grandson of local residents hopes to preserve the legacy of his family’s home town.

Hutch Vinton Davis was born March 4, 2015 in Siloam Springs, Ark., to Luke and Ellen Davis. He is the 15th great-grandchild of Dick and Phyllis Davis of Vinton.

“I live in Siloam Springs, Ark.," says Luke Davis, the grandson of Dick and Phyllis Davis of Vinton and Dr. Olaf and Alberta Craft. “My parents, Bill Davis and Bette (Craft) Davis grew up in Vinton and were high school sweethearts. Many of my aunts, uncles and cousins still live in and around Vinton. I love the town of Vinton, but as my family gets older (and my maternal grandparents have passed away) I can feel the Vinton I loved during my childhood visits slipping away from my memory. So to honor my family and your little town that I love, and ensure the "Vinton chapter" of my family's history is not forgotten, I named my newborn son's middle name Vinton.
