Vinton-Shellsburg High School is pleased to announce that several 2014 Fall athletic teams have been recognized by the Iowa High School Athletic Association and the Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union for their academic achievements. 

The Distinguished Academic Achievement Award is given to the teams who achieve a combined grade point average of 3.25-4.00 for Trimester 1.  This award was received by the following Viking/Vikette teams:

                       Volleyball - 3.370

                       Girls Cross Country - 3.613

                       Boys Cross Country - 3.292

                       Girls Swimming - 3.275

 

The Excellence in Academic Achievement Award is given to the teams who achieve a combined grade point average of 3.00-3.24 for Trimester.

This award was received by the Football Cheerleading squad for a 3.186 team GPA.

Every athlete on these teams was presented with a certificate from the IHSAA or IGHSAU.
