News : Safety Day offers variety of lessons

Safety Day lessons included farm equipment and animal lessons, as well as fire safety.

Children received advice about the safe interaction with animals, how to properly behave around farm machinery and how to use fire extinguishers during the annual Safety Day sponsored by the Benton County Extension Service.

Calling it a "very successful day," Greg Walston listed the organizations who helped: Benton County Fair Board, Benton Co. Farm Bureau, Benton Co Cattlemen, Pork Producers and Dairy Producers, Kromminga Motors, Unity Point Clinic Vinton & Shellsburg, Benton Co. Conservation, Vinton Fire Dept, North Benton Ambulance, Benton County Sherriff’s Office Dispatch, USS Polaris of Toledo, ECI REC, Benton Community, Belle Plaine and VS FFAs, Lillibridge Farms, ISUEO of Benton County and many individual volunteers.
