The unique sounds of a steel drum band were part of Boomfest, 2014.
Boom-Fest was a great time and wonderful community support!  We had over 60 vendors join us on Saturday and hundreds of people came out to get great deals on homemade arts & crafts.  Our entertainment was incredible this year and we thank Cedar Valley Bank & Trust, Farmers Savings Bank & Trust, and US Bank for their generous support of this great event!  Their generosity allowed us to bring fun, family-friendly entertainment to the community.  Cowboy Randy Irwin was a huge hit with his trick roping and unique yodeling.  Brian Parr is always a big hit and his 3 carvings were auctioned off through a silent auction to help support Boom-Fest in future years.  The University of Iowa brought four members of their steel drum band to entertain the crowd and they were a huge hit!  I heard many comments from people who felt like they created a lighthearted and fun atmosphere.

Boom-Fest was a great way to end my tenure here as the Vinton Unlimited Director.  The community support I have received and the fun we have been able to create with new events has been a great. I look forward to seeing this great organization grow and thrive under new leadership as they work to promote the Vinton community to residents & businesses alike.
