Iowa Governor Terry Branstad has proclaimed Saturday December 13, 2014 as Mt Auburn Wreaths Across America Day. Wreaths Across America is a national program with a goal that every Veteran in the United States will have a wreath placed on their grave during the Christmas season. Placement of the wreaths will occur at the Mt.Auburn Cemetery at 11:00am on December 13 and is open to the public, regardless of the weather. The signed Proclaimation is proudly displayed at the Mt. Auburn Legion Hall.

2014 will mark the 23rd year of placing wreaths on Veteran's graves by Wreaths Across America. The one-millionth wreath was placed in 2012. It takes over 25 total tractor trailer loads to accommodate over 105,000 graves at Arlington National Cemetery through 80 volunteer trucking companies and drivers.
