About the Vinton Lions Club
The service club administers the Kidsight program, completing state-mandated vision screenings for pre-school children in conjunction with the University of Iowa Ophthalmology department. This year they launched a successful scrap metal drive to clean up the community, recycle and earn funds for their projects, and they helped fund Reach Out and Read, a parenting/early literacy/wellness project, in conjunction with Virginia Gay Hospitals and Clinics. They also hosted a chili supper fundraiser for Veterans Honor Flight and support a wide range of other community, regional, national and international projects. Their 2014-15 roster includes 81 members.
