The 2014 Party-in-Pink 5K Walk/Run is now in the record books! With more than 550 registered walkers/runners, nearly 50 volunteers, and a soggy start to the race the Benton County Breast Cancer Survivors Group (in cooperation with Virginia Gay Hospital Healthcare Foundation) is pleased to announce a $10,000 gift has been given to the Gifts of Hope program at Virginia Gay Hospital.
The Gifts of Hope fund was created to provide FREE women’s services at Virginia Gay Hospital and Clinics to those who need financial assistance. It will pay for a clinic visit, testing (including mammography) and diagnostic analysis of those tests to determine next steps. “Special thanks go out to Trekman Racing [a professional race organization] who helped make this 5K a first-class event,” said Lu Karr, Benton County Breast Cancer Group representative. She continued, “Our committee is meeting next week and will discuss plans for next year. We hope everyone who participated loved the ease and accuracy of chipped timing and wish to see them again next year.”
For 2015 Trekman Racing will continue to serve as the race coordinator ensuring smooth registration, accurate chipped timing and quality service. Click the link to see the official results from this year’s race: http://results.chronotrack.com/event/results/event/event-7228?lc=en
