The first Vinton Unlimited Block Party of the season took place on Thursday evening, as businesses in the area of 4th Street between 1st and A Avenues sponsored a variety of events, games and activities.

The Vinton Community Band played, and the Cooling Dance Studio Dads and Daughters performed a few numbers on the blocked-off street.

The Benton County Cattlemen grilled burgers and several businesses from the block offered special gifts or activities.

Teresa Meyer and her Farm Bureau staff offered a Big Wheel course for young children and "Fatal Goggles" for older kids and adults. These goggles are designed to simulate the vision of an intoxicated person.

Games included a water pistol ping pong ball activity for two people, similar to foosball but using water to move the ball to the opponent's red zone.
