The Alco store in Vinton, joining a company-wide effort to support the communities in which the stores are located, has announced its intention to share 2 percent of total sales from Friday and Saturday (Dec. 20-21) with the Vinton-Shellsburg School District.
Manager Verdonn LeFevere contacted the school administration office on Thursday to announce the event.
The store and school district encourage all area shoppers to take advantage of this opportunity to help the local schools.
