Benton County naturalists Aaron Askelson and Karen Phelps taught Tilford Elementary students how plants grow and even how the seeds smell during a presentation in the outdoor classroom behind Tilford Elementary last week.
While the students were learning about nature in the pavilion, butterflies and bees were busy in the nearby garden, helping pollinate flowers.
The students learned about the parts of a plant, and what each part does, then drew diagrams of those parts.

Tilford also had a wildflower plot in front of the school, on the left as you came in the west entrance. but a local \'Master Praire Killer\' destroyed it in order to plant non-native flowers and plants several years ago. A shame!
