The 4th Street Diner meal on Sunday, August 18th, will be Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes/Gravy, Broccoli/Cheese Sauce, Mixed Green Salad, Peach Crisp, WW Bread, Milk.

On Monday, June 24th, there were 3 tables of Pepper Cards played. First place went to Geri Shaffer with 339 points. Leroy Weiser won 2nd place with 314 points. Third place went to LaVonne Henkel with 235 points. After the games, refreshments were served by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

On Tuesday, June 25th, the afternoon musical entertainment was provided by Hauser and O’Deen.

On Wednesday, June 26th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller. Geri Shaffer handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with Elsie Knaack winning. Game two was Stair Steps with Greta Geiken winning. Game three was Frame the Free and Four Corners with Angie Steffen and Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game four was Wild Number Three Bingos with Elsie Knaack as the winner. Angie Steffen won game five with Blackout.

On Thursday, June 27th, the activity of the day was 10-Cent Bingo. Linda Lough was the volunteer caller. Game one was a Picture Frame with Faye Goodell and Hazel Eastwood winning. Game two was Top and Bottom Lines with JoAnn Roster winning. Game three was the Letter “T” with Greta Geiken winning. Game four was the Letter “Z” with Marion Isbell winning. JoAnn Roster won game five with Blackout.

On Friday, June 28th, games of 500 Cards were played. Bernadine Barr won 1st place with 3,680 points. Geri Shaffer won 2nd place with 3,040 points. Leroy Weiser won 3rd place with 2,690 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by the Card Club. HACAP provided the beverages.

On Monday, July 1st, games of Pepper Cards were played. Darlene Werning won 1st Place with 306 points. Leroy Weiser won 2nd place with 273 points. Bud Barr won 3rd place with 252 points. Refreshments were provided by Card Club and beverages provided by HACAP.

On Tuesday, July 2nd, the afternoon activity was Surprise Bingo. Maureen Haisman was the volunteer caller. Ruth Wieditz handpicked the games. Game one was a Flag with Ruth Wieditz winning lotion. Game two was a 9-Pack with Faye Goodell winning lotion. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with GeorgeEckhart winning a meal ticket. Game four was Frame the Free and Four Corners with Hazel Eastwood winning candy. Geri Shaffer won lotion on game five with a Blackout.

On Monday, July 8th, there were games of Pepper Cards played. Bill Milne won 1st place with 346 points. Esther Novotny won 2nd place with 322 points. Don Selken won 3rd place with 315 points. Refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

On Tuesday, July 9th, we celebrated all the July birthdays. Geri Shaffer was honored with having a birthday and having nine guests. Geri was also given a free meal certificate. The afternoon musical entertainment was provided by Stuart Gulick.

On Wednesday, July 10th, the afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Wendy Pennington was the volunteer caller. Geri Shaffer handpicked the games. Game one was a 9-Pack with Elsie Knaack winning. Game two was Stair Steps with Mae Wilhelmi winning. Game three was Wild Number Three Bingos with Mae Wilhelmiwinning. Game four was a Plus Sign with Greta Geiken as the winner. On Thursday, July 11th, we welcomed the Sunny Side of 60 Group as our guests. The afternoon activity was 10-Cent Bingo. Vickie Holst was the volunteer caller. Keith Weise handpicked the games. Game one was a Shot Gun with Elsie Knaack and JoAnn Roster winning. Game two was a Layer Cake with Greta Geikenwinning. Game three was a Check Mark and Four Corners with Don Dill winning. Game four was the Letter “L” with Greta Geiken and Marvin Witt winning. George Eckhart and Maybeth Graham both won game five with a Blackout.

On Friday, July 12th, there were games of 500 played. Bernadine Barr won 1st place with 3,630 points. JoAnne Jones won 2nd place with 3,590 points. Geri Shaffer won 3rd place with 3,550 points. After the games, refreshments were provided by Card Club. Beverages were provided by HACAP.

Serving Buffet from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A choice of salads is available on the buffet.

Everyone is WELCOME! Suggested contribution for individuals 60 years old or older, and their spouse (regardless of age) is $2.75 for the meal. Individuals who are not yet 60 are WELCOME but need to pay $3.75 for their meal. Carryout meals are available. We deliver meals to Vinton, Newhall, Urbana, and Garrison/Mt Auburn. The suggested contribution is $3.00/meal if you are 60 or older. We also have nutritious frozen meals and liquid supplements. Delivery is throughout Benton County. Please call 319-472-4761 for more information about services or to reserve a table for groups of 3c or more.

Each month the 4th St Diner has a special day set aside to celebrate birthdays for that month. It is always scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month. Anyone having a birthday for that particular month is encouraged to make a reservation for themselves and any guests they would like to celebrate with. The names of all birthday celebrants who have made a reservation for the Birthday Table are entered into the door prize drawing. We currently have two door prizes scheduled for each month. The first is $5 in Vinton Unlimited Value Dollars generously donated by Vinton Unlimited. The second is a gift certificate for a free 4th Street Diner meal. Reservations for the Birthday Dinner table can be made by calling 472-4761. Reservations need to be made by 10:00 AM on the day of the celebration.
