July 4: Brandi N. Pearson, 31, Vinton,Charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Serious Misdemeanor) andPossession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor).

July 9: Michael G. Moore, 59, Cedar Rapids,Intrastate Warrant

July 23: Joshua N. Randall, 31, Vinton, charged with Burglary 1st Degree (Class “B” Felony). Intrastate Warrant.

July 27: Keaton R. Miller, 19, Blairstown,Charged with Public Intoxication - 2ndOffense (Serious Misdemeanor)and Possession of Alcohol under Legal Age- 2nd Offense (Simple Misdemeanor).Citation issued for misuse of license to acquire alcohol.

Juvenile Referrals

July 2: 11 & 12 year old males were referred to Juvenile Probation for Discharging Fireworks (Simple Misdemeanor).

July 26: A 14 year old male was referred to Juvenile Probation for Public Intoxication(Simple Misdemeanor).

July 29: Two 17 year old males and a 16 year old male were all referred to Juvenile Probation for Assault (Serious Misdemeanors).

Fourteen citations were issued in July. Four resulted from three state reportable traffic accidents, three for possession of alcohol under legal age, one for dog at large, and the remainder for other traffic offenses.

Twenty-nine written warnings were issued in July.

One parking/street storage removal violation was issued in July.

For the month of July, 146 complaints/calls for service were handled by the Vinton Police Department.
