News : Equestrians compete in several Fair horse shows

Horse lovers and horse riders had many opportunities, as they do every year, to watch or compete in horse events.

The 4-H/FFA Horse and Pony Fun Show took place on Friday, as riders of all ages competed in pole bending, barrels and flag events. The members of the BHIP (Benton Horse Interest Project) led the opening ceremonies by carrying flags while riding around the ring.

On Saturday, the 4-H/FFA Horse Show took place, as horses and their owner were judged in a variety of categories.

An Open Show took place on Sunday, for riders of all ages from throughout the area. And on Saturday evening, there was a team-penning event that allowed youing riders to compete with adults in seeing how quickly they could separate calves.
