With the event of summer’s arrival comes the much anticipated town festivals – parades – and of course, fireworks! By now, if you’re a resident of Benton County and especially Vinton, you know what fireworks mean to us!! BOOMTOWN, this year, presented by Veridian Credit Union.
Vinton will once again host the IA Pyrotechnic Association’s annual meeting @ the Benton County Fairgrounds on Saturday, September 18. Although, this is not your typical “annual meeting”, this one is loud, and bright, and can be seen, heard and felt for miles around! This particular annual meeting involves Fireworks…..LOTS of fireworks!
For our 4th Annual event, families can plan their entire day around being in Vinton and having a GREAT time! The IPA will be hosting a pancake breakfast for the public at the Fairgrounds on Saturday morning, beginning at 7:00AM, after having a great breakfast, families can go to downtown Vinton and enjoy our FIRST annual “Boom Fest” street events, with everything from arts/crafts vendors, live music, farmer’s market, inflatables and food booths! Then, at 3:00, everyone can head back up to the fairgrounds to stake out their seats and parking spots for the night ahead! There will be live music provided by “JamPact”, food vendors, beer garden and LOTS more!
The IPA and Boomtown Committee have been meeting regularly and working hard to make the 2010 event the biggest and best yet! Your support is always appreciated, whether you can donate a few hours to help park cars, clean on Sunday morning prior to the races, sell shirts/lanterns, assist in seating, or perhaps give a few dollars to ensure the IPA will be able to “grow the show” – every thing that anyone can do is very much needed and welcomed! Please contact any Boomtown Committee member for information as to how you can help.
