There are still several appointments available for the Virginia Gay Hospital blood drive coming up on Tuesday, November 26th. Our goal is to fill the schedule and make a difference in the lives of patients in need of lifesaving care.

Hands down, one of the best events that Vinton-Shellsburg provides for the community is the annual Veterans Assembly. Denny Miller added the finishing touch to the table set for the POW/MIA veterans at the beginning of the ceremony, always a touching moment.

Iowa Select Farms supports Iowa veterans and military families by helping communities host Veterans Day celebrations.American Legion Post #57, Vinton,  AMVETS Post #218, Vinton,  AMVETS, Keystone and  American Legion Post #166, Shellsburg were among  160 Iowa veteran-based organizations who are preparing to host Veterans Day celebrations with the support of Iowa Select Farms and the Deb and Jeff Hansen Foundation.
