The Vinton-Shellsburg Community School District remains committed to doing all we can to meet the needs of our students and their families. One way we can do that is to offer FREE meals for children up to age 18.

For the next few weeks, Dave Gates will be saying goodbye to some of the things he's spent a lot of time raising, plants. He says that rather than just throwing everything away, he thought that maybe someone else might like some of the things.

Shellsburg Library now Open

Middle School Teachers Send the Class of 2024 off for the Summer

Teachers have had to come up with all sorts of ways to continue education when the classrooms closed this year. They also needed to create new memories for the children after the usual activities were canceled.

Body of Missing man recovered

On 5-26-2020, at about 7:44 PM, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing person at Wildcat Bluff county park. The missing person was Gerry Edwards, age 62, from the Urbana area.
