November 22nd is National Survivors of Suicide Day; a day to take stock of the emotional cost of suicide by remembering and comforting those who are still with us but who have lost a loved one, a dear friend, or a fond acquaintance to suicide.
Since July more than 100 cases of mumps have occurred at the University of Iowa and the numbers have been increasing in recent weeks. Cases are primarily occurring in undergraduate students.

State Senator Tim Kapucian of Keystone and State Representative Dawn Pettengill of Mt. Auburn will host a managed care meeting for health providers of House District 75 on November 12th in Van Horne.
Dr. Thomas Viner and four assistants make an early morning commute from Iowa City to Vinton every other week. They provide specialized head and neck medical attention for patients in Benton County and the larger area VGH serves.
The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department continues to accept registrations for our upcoming Fall Aqua Aerobics session held Wednesday and Sunday evenings at the Iowa Braille School's indoor pool.
