ASAC is currently in the process of completing community assessments around substance use for our 7 county service area. ASAC will be gathering data regarding youth and adult substance use consumption and consequences for tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, methamphetamine, problem gambling, opioids/prescription medication, and suicide.
Part of this process includes interviewing community members about a specific substance. The goal of this interview is to better understand general awareness and knowledge surrounding different identified areas of substance use. We are currently still needing interviews for the following priority areas: Problem Gambling and Suicide. The insights gathered will guide our organization's approach to prevention strategies and help us identify the best ways to address substance-related issues in the community.
The interview should last between 20-30 minutes and can be completed via phone, virtually, or in person. The interviews are anonymous and do not ask about personal experiences. It is okay if you do not feel like you know anything about the subject; that is important data as well! Each interview will address 1 priority area, for 1 age group (either youth or adults). I have included a Calendly link to assist with scheduling. If you have a preference for a specific substance listed above and/or age (youth or adult), please list that in the notes. If you prefer to schedule not through the link, we can schedule through email!
