A New Family Nest parent education program for expecting families and families with children ages 0 - 4 is coming to Benton County in January. Classes are set to begin on January 12, 2023, and will be held on the second Thursday of every month in Vinton. Class topics will include: choosing a hospital, prenatal care, appointments and nutrition, high-risk pregnancy, pumping and breastfeeding, postpartum depression, anxiety, mental health, car seat safety, sleep safety, delivery, recovery, self-advocacy, NICU time, school readiness, pregnancy after loss, Dad's perspective, bringing baby home with an older child.Participants in the Nest program will earn points that can be redeemed in the Nest Store for items such as diapers, wipes, clothing, car seats, pack-n-plays, home safety items, and other supplies needed by families with young children.Points for the Nest Store are earned through completing activities like going to prenatal medical visits, and dental visits, participating in LSI's home visitation program, attending WIC clinics, nutrition classes, reading to your child, immunizing your child, smoking cessation, and well-child doctor visits.The short registration form is available at: https://docs.google.com/.../1FAIpQLSeCytZa.../viewform or by scanning the QR code in the photoFollow Better Tomorrows ECI on Facebook!
