Health and Fitness : Recovery is Possible! Overcoming Struggles and Embracing Success

ASAC counselors always appreciate receiving feedback from patients after they've completed their treatment, whether they've been in a residential program or outpatient counseling. Here is a note one of ASAC's staff received a few months after this individual left outpatient counseling:

Being in ASAC has me wanting to help others struggling with addiction and mental health. After attending ASAC, my idea of treatment has totally changed and ASAC was so awesome.

You have been one of the best people I've ever met, and I am so lucky that I had you as my counselor to guide me through this. I am truly so proud of myself that I have maintained my sobriety, and I feel like I've finally gotten to the light at the end of the tunnel.

• More than 3000 people received treatment provided by ASAC in the past year.
  Same Day Access allows patients to receive assessments the day they call in seeking assistance.
• Although the primary service area is Linn, Jones, Jackson, Jones, and Benton counties, patients from all over Iowa receive treatment with ASAC.
• Nearly 15,000 individuals receive prevention services from ASAC each year.
• Prevention staff worked with more than 50 businesses across ASAC's region to provide training and assist in writing policies to create a healthier workplace.
• Prevention staff train and test to receive certification as a Prevention Specialist to meet the highest-quality research, strategy and training standards in the state. ASAC is the only organization that has three (3) staff who have achieved Advanced Prevention Specialists.
• ASAC is committed to training at all levels and launched a Community Health Worker Apprenticeship Program in 2021 for entry-level staff.
