The Benton-Iowa Community Partnership for Protecting Children and Above the Influence Wellness Coalition are asking you to be part of the Pass the Love Campaign to celebrate the importance of social connections.

Individuals of all ages are encouraged to create a card (or two!) for kids receiving inpatient or outpatient services for mental health or behavioral health. Mental illness is a medical condition like asthma or diabetes - many of the same things we would write in a traditional 'get well' card also apply to mental illness.

Through these cards, we want to make a connection with these kids in order to provide support and encouragement. A simple card allows them to know they are not alone and that people care about them. These cards are positive connections that aid in the treatment that these kids are receiving.

Ideas to write on the cards include:
* I'm thinking of you, and I hope you get well soon.
* Remember you are never alone.
* I hope you are getting a lot of rest, and your body is healing
* Thank you for being here, you are special.
* You make the world a better place.
* You are loved. I promise.
* You don't have to feel strong all of the time.
* It does get better.
* I'm sending you hugs.

If you are interested in spreading love during Mental Health Awareness Month, please mail your cards in an envelope to any of these locations and address it to "Pass the Love Campaign". We will be collecting these cards from May 18th to June 1st. Once collected these cards will be provided to mental health professionals to be distributed to youth in their care.
