November 15, 2018 – Today, on National Rural Health Day, Virginia Gay Hospital announced it has been recognized by The Chartis Center of Rural Health and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) for overall excellence for performance in the top quartile for patient outcomes among all rural hospitals in the nation. “I am pleased that we have once again been recognized for outstanding patient outcomes by the Chartis Center and the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health,” said Mike Riege, CEO of Virginia Gay Hospital and Clinics. “It isn’t enough for rural hospitals to provide convenient access to care, the care patients receive must be cost-effective, safe, and result in positive outcomes for patients.
