A Youth Mental Health First Aid Training, will take place May 18.

This training is free and open to the public, sponsored by Benton & Iowa County Decat, Flourishing Families of Benton and Iowa Counties, and The Grace C Mae Advocate Center.

The primary focus of this training is Youth Mental Health First Aid. This is different than the basic Mental Health First Aid trainings that we also do. It is for anyone who has contact with youth… counselors, parents, peers, faith community, law enforcement, EMT, firefighters, youth workers, educators/teachers, nursing, medical community, childcare providers.

The Youth MHFA training teaches community members skills on identifying and responding to youth who may be experiencing a mental health issue. This is comparable to learning first aid training for physical health, but instead will focus on mental health.

If this date isn’t convenient for you or someone you know is interested in this training, just check with me, we have other trainings scheduled or can be scheduled, all are welcome to attend most groups we train.
